“I too discovered the bounty in nature. In 1970 I joined others that hoped to preserve that bounty.”
To my granddaughter and all those who are members of her generation:
I still remember the time that I talked about celebrating the first Earth Day back in 1970. That was on the day that you had turned four, and your response to my comments was just one word. Here is what you said: "1970?!"
Later, when you were in second or third grade, I recall a day when we went together to Stoner Park. On that day you talked about enjoying what you called the "bountifulness" of the day. I was pleased to see that you had become aware of the bounty provided to us by nature. I hope you understand how those two events are connected.
I too discovered the bounty in nature. In 1970 I joined others that hoped to preserve that bounty. I hope we succeeded and preserved that bounty for your generation. If we did, then I trust you to deliver a bountiful world to the generation that follows yours.
