“Listen and you will hear my story well … Listen and you will know my story true And you will learn the reason why I sing this song And you know just what you have to do ”
I am a water child. In Jamaica, the fishermen call me “the mermaid.” Dancing in the fresh waters in Jamaica of the river, sea and the blue lagoon, while watching the fishermen with their fresh catch from those crystal waters, I was even more deeply impressed by the immense wealth all around me—the supreme value of the living waters. The impending reality of the consequences of what we have done to our most valuable resource frightens me and wakes me up at night … we are already living in a world where there is not enough water for the populations to sustain life, and soon there will be no more oceans or seas where we and our children can swim and enjoy the healing, living waters without peril. This is what we have created. Shed a tear.
(And when there is no more water, nor fertile soil with which to grow bread, the ones who profited thereby will realize they cannot drink diamonds nor eat gold.)

Listen and you will hear my story well …
Listen and you will know my story true
And you will learn the reason why I sing this song
And you know just what you have to do
We used to drink from rivers that were pure
And dance in sparkling waters oh so blue
Living in this amazing peaceful paradise
Colors of every living kind of hue, of every hue
Industry
Poison seas
Oil drills
Endless spills
Water dies
Nature cries
Why oh why we couldn't see?
We killed the living waters
Where are the living waters?
Listen and you will hear my story well..
Listen and you will know my story true
And you will learn the reason why I sing this song
And you will know that life is guiding you
We used to drink from rivers that were pure
And dance in sparkling waters oh so blue
Living in this amazing peaceful paradise
We refused to listen to the truth
It was the truth!
It was the truth!
Industry
Poison seas
Oil drills
Endless spills
Water dies
Nature cries
Why oh why we couldn't see?
We killed the living waters
Where are the living waters?
